The Kotiate, meaning to divide the liver, is a short handled club weapon. The striking notches in its design give it the ability to rip and tear into the target. Traditionally carved from a hardwood or whale bone, the Kotiate was a prized weapon.
Pounamu or Greenstone is regarded as a stone sacred to the gods by the Māori of New Zealand. As a Taonga -meaning treasured, and it should be worn with respect and pride. Pounamu is a gift from the heart.
