Al Brown is an accomplished Carver from Whanganui with a 45 year long career. His Iwi is Ati Haunui-a-Paparangi and his Hapu is Ngati Rauka.
Hei Tiki is a symbol of fertility and good luck. It is also said to bring the wearer strength of character, allowing one to be loyal, clear headed and perceptive. The Tiki will often be depicted with its tongue poking out for protection.
Pounamu or Greenstone is regarded as a stone sacred to the gods by the Māori of New Zealand. As a Taonga -meaning treasured, and it should be worn with respect and pride.
