The Patu muka was used for pounding the fibres of harakeke (flax). The fibres from it, muka, are the key piece in Māori weaving and had many uses from clothing and mats, to baskets and fishing nets.
NZ Serpentine rich black and green hues, is said to be a wonderful stone to create a strong connection to Papatūānuku, aiding in meditation and spiritual exploration.
